Who can participate?
People aged 70-90 years old who:
Are fluent in English
Can see and hear well (with glasses or hearing aid/s if needed)
Have a family member or close friend who can answer questions about your health
Do not live in residential aged care
Do not have dementia, multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease, or a developmental disability
Do not have a life-threatening disease or are receiving treatment for cancer
Do not have a severe psychiatric disorder (such as psychosis or bipolar disorder)
Did not take part in the original Sydney Memory and Ageing Study (MAS1) which started in 2005
What are the benefits in participating?
You will receive a summary of your memory, physical health, and blood results (if you opt-in for blood sample collection). If there is a concern, we can also communicate your results to your GP with your permission.
You will receive exclusive access to healthy ageing webinars from our team at UNSW Sydney.
You will be invited to optional add-on studies that can provide feedback on your vision, hearing, heart health, fall risk, and balance skills.
Your participation will enhance understanding of what leads to healthy ageing and benefit older people and the entire community.
